Defibrillator

Thanks to the fundraising efforts of our fantastic members, we have been able to install a publicly accessible defibrillator outside our premises in Upton. 

• Every year in the UK, around 30,000 people suffer sudden cardiac arrest outside of hospital. 
• 2 people under 35 die each week from sudden cardiac arrest
  
• 270 children die each year from sudden cardiac arrest on school premises
• If a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes, survival rates jump from 6% to 74%!
• The defibrillator requires no training. Once the lid is open, it talks you through what to do step by step.
