Wirral UKTA is a member of the British Taekwondo Council, the National Governing Body for Taekwondo. The BTC has achieved NSPCC Advanced Standards in Safeguarding. Wirral UKTA adheres to all of the BTC 's Safeguarding policies and procedures. |
We take safeguarding very seriously and are committed to the welfare and protection of our young members. We make every effort to ensure that children feel secure and confident in our classes, so that they can enjoy learning Taekwon-do without fear.
Our instructors and Welfare officer are DBS checked, and receive regular training in safeguarding and protecting children and vulnerable adults. Some of our training is over and above that which is required by law and by the NGB. Instructors are always willing to listen should anyone have any concerns about their own, or another person's well-being.
Ms Silvester is the club Welfare Officer. You can approach her with any concerns you may have, including any which you would rather not discuss with instructors. As well as being our Club Welfare Officer, she is also a Safeguarding Solicitor.
