In March, 6 of our black belts & 1st kups travelled to Scotland for the UK Taekwon-do Association Black belt seminar & grading. Three attended the seminar only, whilst three graded, and were subsequently promoted to 6th Dan, 2nd Dan, and 1st Dan. At the second National black belt grading of the year in Didcot in September, another of our students achieved her 1st Dan black belt.
In April we hosted the first North West ITF Championships in Liverpool, which was a great success.
In May Master Philip Taverner came to Wiral to run 2 seminars, one for colured belts and one for black belts, several of ourstudents were graded by him afterwards, and in Juy we attended a seminar in Darlington given by Master Hampson.
In June Mrs Bennett attended an International Instructors Course in Cardiff.
Throughout the year, we attended the Scottish Open, the Welsh Open, the BTF Championships, the UK Open, and the BTF UK champs, bringing home many gold medals. We also held a tag sparring competition at the dojang for our youngest members.
In Summer our adult members went bowling and had a meal out, and in December had another night out. We also saw the return of our Christmas Party and Awards presentaion evening, bigger and better than ever.
In November, four of our students went to give England squad training a try for the first time, having received sponsorship to help them on their way.
2021 Events Archive
In April we welcomed children back to classes for the opening of the new dojang, and in May adults returned to indoor training there too.
Many new members joined during April and May and we put on several new classes.
In June we launched a Crowdfunder appeal and raised enough to buy an external public defibrillator for all the community.
In July the first grading at our new dojang took place.
In November we attended the first competition since the start of the pandemic, our 7 competitors coming away with 4 gold medals as well as some silver & bronze
Also in November we hosted a series of seminars with Master Whiteley, 8th Dan, who also graded a number of students.
In December the annual awards were presented in class, and the adults had a celebratory meal out.

In March a group of our lady members attended the UKTA Women's Seminar in Oxford
March saw the National Black Belt seminar & Grading in Cardiff where one of our teenagers gained his Black Belt with the highest top mark in his age group.
After this the National lockdown came and we moved our classes to Zoom. A steep learning curve for everyone but students managed not only to continue training, but to make really good progress too.
We trained for the entire 2020, either socially distanced in small classes indoors when allowed, or outside and / or on Zoom.
2019 Events Archive
In February we hosted a seminar in Wirral with Grand Master Gary Miller.
March saw the National Black Belt grading in Cardiff in which one of our students achieved her ITF first Dan.
In April one of our members represented England in the ITF European Championships in Italy, and across the year our members competed in the English Open, the Scottish Open, the BTF Nationals, the Welsh Open, the UK Open, and the Birmingham Open, winning an array of medals, many of them Gold!
Throughout the year several of our members attended England squad training.
Some of our members attended summer camp at Gordonstoun School and also an ITF Technical course in Oxford. Our adult members also enjoyed a few social events.
In September two of our black belts graded to 2nd Dan at the National Black Belt grading in Glasgow.
In December we had our annual awards evening and Christmas party.
Overall it was a difficult year, seeing us lose our long term venue of Moreton Youth Club due to structural issues, despite this we still managed to train and succeed.
2018 Events Archive
In early 2018 we hosted a seminar with Grand Master John Williamson, President of the UKTA. We also benefitted from a 'Biomechanics of Jumping' workshop in Moreton with Sports Scientist & 3 x ITF European Champion, Miss Karen Smith.
In April we were thrilled to have the amazing Mr Carl Davis, ITF World & European Champion, come to our school and do a sparring workshop for us.
Mr Isaac Berry Bartle passed his Black Belt grading at the National Black Belt Seminar & Grading in Leicester. He also qualified as a National Instructor at an Instructors course in Reading.
In September, 5 of our instructors/ assistants went to Loughborough for a very useful BTC course on Strength & Conditioning training for Taekwon-do.
Throughout the year we attended the BTF Junior & Veteran Championships, The English Open, The Welsh Open, The Scottish Open, The BTF British Championships, The UK Open and The Birmingham Open. We saw huge successes at these competitions with high overall rankings for our school and fantastic personal achiements for many members including numerous Gold medals.
Some of our members attended ITF England squad training sessions.
In December we held our annual Christmas party & Awards evening, and adult members enjoyed a night out. We also held a fundraising event for a very worthwhile cause.
2017 Events Archive
In Spring we had the amazing opportunity to be treated to two Free Classes right here in Wirral with Master Hwang Suil, Hwoarang from TEKKEN 2! This was followed by the ITF European Championships at the Echo Arena, Liverpool!
Miss Winstanley qualified as a National Umpire. Master John Taylor came to Moreton to conduct two seminars for us, and we were treated to a class by special guest instructor Mr Johnnie Chan.
July was the 50th anniversary of Taekwon-do and some of our members attended a free celebratory seminar, a Dinner dance in Coventry, & a further Seminar with Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha.
Also in summer we put on a demonstration at the Festival of Firsts in Hoylake, attended a Seminar with Grandmaster Williamson in Teesside, and hosted a kids 'Taekwon-do Summer Camp'.
September saw instructors at the National Black Belt Seminar & Grading where one of our 12 year olds passed her black belt grading. Also in autumn, some of our adult members enjoyed a night out in Liverpool and we hosted an Area Black Belt training session in Moreton.
Through the course of the year we attended the Welsh Open, the Scottish Open, the BTF National Championships, and the UK Open Championships, bringing home many medals including several GOLDS. Some of us attended ITF England squad training sessions too.
In winter we attended a Grand Master Seminar in Morley, hosted a specialist stretching session with a dance expert, and ended the year celebrating achievements and progress with a Christmas party and awards night, followed by another night out for the adult members.
